Endless Roads

--
Juan Rayos, a Madrid native, is the man behind the camera for Endless Roads. The surfer himself was first approached by few members of the Longboard Girls Crew that wanted Rayos to shoot a session of the girls cruising through Castellana St. and slides in Moyano. When Rayos was asked what his experience was shooting Endless Roads, he said "everything was so spontaneous which made everyone have a good time". I think he does a beautiful job in capturing the feeling of the longboards rather than tricks and style. This is part two of four chapters, you can see part one by following the youtube link after this. Keep a look out for the other two chapters coming soon.

Fox Brush

--
This video is a personal project by the two authors Meritxell Ribas (Illustrator) and Sergio Sierra (Text) to promote their book. Pincel de zorro is a 96 page paperback book, about a little girl whose life changes the same night her father brings home a dead fox from a hunting trip. Mysteriously when her parents decide to sell the precious skin of the animal, they receive a visit from a magical woman.

Painted Love

--
How far would you go for love? French duo AIR answers this question with their song entitled "Painted Love". As Picasso once said, Good artists copy, great artists steal. This is a perfect example of that, because this is a carbon copy of the 1984 "Take on Me" video by A-ha. Never-mind the video, listen to this song. With just 4:33 minutes, set it on loop and enjoy rest of the night.

Forever Jordan

--
Jordan Melo M8 thousand shoe launch has raised the bar way up with this explosive water projection. This larger than life advertising method was adopted by the recent wall projection projects, but this goes one step further to give it a hologram-esk look to it.

Native-Instruments IMASCHINE

--
Jamie Lidell is a beatboxing one-man band. In this video he uses Native Instruments "IMaschine" app to lay down a track. IMaschine is a hardware/software beat maker/groove box. It has a very simple user interface but a powerful tool among many professional musicians. Download the app on your smart phone.

Day in the Life of....

--
On August 13, 2011 we follow Fedde Le Grand as he performs three major shows while traveling through four countries in a nice little private jet, all within 24 hours. The video is well done, so the editor gets credit there. The soundtrack is well selected, and it's just a fun video to watch.

DEFY

--
It hasn't been long since our last wakeboarding video, but I felt that this is a must see.

BFY Productions has partnered up with four-time X Games gold medalist Danny Harf to work on a new thrill project entitled DEFY. This three-year projects includes boat stunts, exotic locations, and top level riders. My favorite part of this video clip is the cripsy clean blue/green water.

Beats Per Minute

--
Flud has done a wonderful job of advertising their new line of watches. Collaborating with musicians, Flud has put together a series of videos that introduce up and coming artists. The interview style videos presents the artists and what part they play in the industry while keeping the main focus on the watch collections. They don’t mentioned the watch, but the video direction is always focused on the brand. This may limit their target audience, but similar to skateboard industry, it’s big business to find a niche in.

3D Camera Mapping

--
“The Chronicle of a Petrol Station” is a 32 minute documentary in full HD of old photos being taken into a 3D software to be modeled, textured, and composited for a stunning motion imagery. That was a full sentence, let’s break it down. Miklós Falvay took old photography scanned the images, with a 3D software (Blender 2.49) modeled everything in the picture by hand and mapped/textured the scanned image on top of the models and animated it.

Two Fingers - Deuces Up

--
Adaptation of wakeboarding, with a killer twist. Unlike wakeboarding, the rider is not bound to the board and the top surface of the board is covered with griptape like a skateboard. This give the sport a unique challenge. The riders get high speeds in water, no pavement burns, and they get to rock DVS’s on water.

What’s great about the video is the subtlety of the sound effects when they hit the water. The timewarp on the footage is very well done, the soundtrack is great, and it’s got a full rainbow all the way in one of the shots.

Where's Bob

--
Raffaella Carrà is no stranger to the house scene. The 68 year-old, singer, dancer, actress teaches the young Frenchmen, Bob Sinclar, how they do it in Milan, Italy. This song is very similar to tracks from Riva Starr and Dennis Ferrer that were a big hit earlier this year, but it's the first time I'm seeing this video.

No Beef (fo' samplin' my shit)

--
If you happen to be in Vegas this Labor day weekend, then I am sure you heard this track. Afrojack & Steve Aoki pick up the lovely Miss Palmer for vocals on a recycled Lazor Major track, yeah, remember 'Pon de floor'. Steve Aoki is the P. Diddy of house music, his discology is just full of samples, but he does it well so cheers to that.

Diamonds & Death

--
Brooklyn based duo 'VHS or BETA' work with director Graham Hill on their first single "Breaking Bones" off their second album "Diamonds & Death". This four-minute video manages to stay suitable for work by turning what would be NSFW (a term I recently found out the hard way) images of bare flesh into rainbow-colored static.

I'm not a big fan of tuner cars (anymore), but I do believe that you can make any vehicle hundred times better after it comes off the assembly line. Having said that, there are some cars that are just not worth the time, energy, money and talent to be wasted on. What I love about this guy is he takes a high end car and makes it even better than the already cool car that it was.

Call 9-1-1 NOW

--
My name is SKRILLEX. ohhhh my gosh, CALL 9 1 1 NOW....
Love this track. If I was directing this video, I would of made a CG world full of destruction's, or a tribute of all the resent world disasters and how the police couldn't respond to it in time. So many idears come to mind with this song, if I had time and the drive I would of loved to remake this video.

If you haven't heard of Skrillex, check his music out. He's got 3 albums and they are all pretty heavy. If you like DUB-STEP, he is pretty legit. He won't be in LA for another year, but I plan to go see him when he's in town.

City of Angels

--
One of the most multicultural counties in the United States, recognized as the most diverse metropolitan area. A stunning time-lapse video (which I'm not a big fan of time lapses) of our lovely city. Greatest please to live in the world, no other place can offer so much within a short distance drive.

Please make sure to have the HD on, don't ruin Colin's hard work by watching this low res.

Run 'MC

--
Inspired by the short "Meet Buck" comes Mac'n'Cheese. Four students have come together at Utrecht School of Arts in the Netherlands to put this piece together. The story is not as good as "Meet Buck" but the animation and editing is pretty awesome. In the words of late Rick James, "Cocaine is hell of a drug".

Depth of Speed

--
BMW 2002: A beautiful piece of machinery. The important thing about this video is it features an amazing car, shot with a 5D (or a 7D) on a dolly slider. Triple Threat.... Check out the camera moves, and how smooth the track is that the camera is sitting on.

Hents Hima

--
Arguably the most anticipated track from Armen Entertainment hits the air waves. Armenchik is the leading artist in Armenian pop culture, back-to-back platinum hits, and sold out shows every time he performs. Unfortunately, the video is pretty weak for my taste, but do understand that this is as good as Armenian music videos get. I didn’t expect much, but the song is of course an instant hit. Whatever Armenchik touches turns into gold. In this video he features Snoop Dogg, awesome! ‘nough said. Honestly, Snoop Dogg should be honored standing next to a living legend amongst the Armenian culture.

Ancient City of Pandora

A stunning CG video from Paris. It seems like this is how Pandora (from Avatar) would look like before the Na’vi’s took over. Great score done by a French compositeur Phillipe Rey. If this was a video game I would definitely play it.

We Miss You

--
The quality of this video is amazing more than anything, but the message is pretty awesome. I should of guessed, not even the title gives it away. I'm not sure about the execution, but I liked the build up. Suspenseful up until the end of the clip, you knew it was coming, but weren't sure what it was for.

2011 Summer Begins NOW

--
The very special thing about this video is that it was all shot in Downtown LA. Recognize most of the places? I'm sure both David Guetta and Nicki Minaj were both anxiously waiting to drop this single as 2011 summer begins. Sounds like we'll be hearing this a lot this summer at all the pool parties.

Fonts Fonts Fonts

--
Using lyrics from Buck 65 "Superstars Don't Love" Travis Hopkins has taken over 60 old movie titles and animated the first verse of the song. Simple, clean and well put together. This is one of the ideas that looks so simple to do that I wish I thought of doing it, but I didn't, so hats off to Travis.

Jan Saudek's Photography in Motion

--
This experimental short is done by Tadas Svilainis using scanned photography, chopped up into multi-layer Photoshop files, than taken into After Effects to add motion and animation. I’m sure everyone has seen similar pieces like this, but it has always been with vector art, Rock-n-Rolla Intro for example or comic book anime, but never have I seen this done with real photography.

LA River Ride

--
Here is a video I shot with my GoPro of the 100 mile bike ride I did a few weeks ago. Started from Griffith Park to Seal Beach and back. This was my first century ride, and I did it in 9 hours. Advance riders usually do this in 6-7 hours. It was tough, but I will definitely do it again.

Freedom

--
A lot of hard work behind this spot, let’s break it down. The wall represents the barrier placed in the way of freedom. Behind the wall, a world of light and freedom. On the other side: death, injustice and despair. It goes through the world history of the last 50 years. The examples used are internationally recognizable, at the same time, metaphorical enough for people to understand them even without knowing about them.

flower can wither and die, but its seeds will bring life to a new one. No matter how hard you try to censor, attack or extinguish freedom, its seeds are already way too spread and a new liberty will always arise.

SHM - 'Save The World'

Swedish House Mafia launched their highly anticipated single 'Save The World' with vocals by John Martin from Miike Snow. SHM is set to close EDC in Las Vegas this year and you know there will be thousands of people singing along to this tune.

This video reminds me of something I saw a few years ago by a studio in Paris called PLEIX. I'm guessing this is where they got the idea from.

MC Imprint

--
MC Imprint (Brett Guidry), a member of Mash Down Babylon community, has released his first album “The First Impression”. An independent hip-hop artist from Seal Beach, and he sounds exactly like how an indie hip-hop artist from Seal beach would sound like in your head. I got an email this morning from a friend saying check out my cousin’s video, let me know what you think. In response to her email, it made it on my page, so it’s gotta’ be good.
